Poker Central Releases Super High Roller Bowl Documentary
If you want to get inside the heads of a high roller, then Poker Central is giving you a fantastic chance to do so. Starting on Thursday, PokerGo will feature a new documentary series INSIDERS: Super High Roller Bowl 2018.
The new series will feature three of the game’s top pros – Brandon Adams, Seth Davies, and Daniel Negreanu as they prepare for the $300,000 Super High Roller Bowl that will run from May 27-30 at the ARIA in Las Vegas.
Seven-Part Series Produced in Collaboration With Emmy Winner
The upcoming seven-part series was produced in collaboration with Jesse Cook, Emmy-winning producer of the SHOWTIME original series, “All Access.” According to a press release issued by Poker Central, the series will “give fans a behind-the-scenes look” into the lives and preparation habits of the three pros as they prepare for the game’s premier high stakes event.
The premiere episode airs on May 10 and then future episodes will be released weekly leading up to and following the Super High Roller Bowl later this month. According to Sam Simmons, vice president of content at Poker Central, “We wanted to give our fans a new perspective on poker – an inside look at the training it takes for these high stakes players to be at the top of their game. We look forward to highlighting the intense preparation that Daniel, Brandon, and Seth undergo in their own unique ways leading up to and throughout the Super High Roller Bowl.”
Poker Central also partnered with CakeWorks, a digital video agency, to produce the series. According to Rebecca Paoletti, CEO, and co-founder of CakeWorks, “We’re delighted to debut this intimate series on PokerGO with our long-time partners at Poker Central. Poker Central’s extraordinary access gave us the ability to go beyond the tournament and peek inside secret poker worlds, both on and off the felt.”
Negreanu Headlines Interesting Lineup for Series
Daniel Negreanu isn’t exactly a surprise for this upcoming series but the choices of Brandon Adams and Seth Davies are interesting considering the other players in the field. Negreanu is an easy choice considering that he is #1 on Poker’s All-Time Money List and has been on a mission to bring his game up to par with the other elite players in the High Roller community.
Brandon Adams can be considered the “comeback” story of the last year. After failing to barely register a blip on poker’s radar since 2010, Adams put together a $1.6 million year in 2017, winning event #4 of the 2017 Poker Masters for $819,000 – the largest score of his live career. Last month, he won a $25k High Roller at the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown for $370,000.
Seth Davies is a WPT champion and a rising force in the high stakes community. He has put together a few decent high roller finishes but has yet to break through with a major High Roller event win. He presently has $1.97 million in career earnings.
The 2018 Super High Roller Bowl will kick off on May 27 from the ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. A field of 48 players will put up $300,000 to take their shot at an estimated first place prize of $5 million. Looking at recent stats, Negreanu probably has the best shot at making the final table, which would put a nice cap on the documentary.
Of course, should all three players somehow make the final table, it would make for a fantastic story for both the event and for the Poker Central documentary. This will be the first time playing the Super High Roller Bowl for both Davies and Adams and Negreanu has yet to cash in the event despite playing every year since 2015.
