Badziakouski and Tricket Amongs Partypoker SHR Sochi Winners
The COVID-19 epidemic didn’t stop players from heading out to the partypoker LIVE MILLIONS SHR Sochi series. Presently, the series has completed its first four events and some of the game’s biggest names have taken down titles.
Xia He Jiang took out John Cynn to win the first event. Sam Trickett returned to form after taking down Event #2. Wai Leong Chan and Paul Phua were two of three Malaysian players to make the final table of Event #3 with Chan taking down the title. Finally, Mikita Badziakouski added to his stellar resume by taking down Event #4 and $765,000.
Xia He Jiang Wins Opening Event
The opening event of the partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Super High Roller Series Sochi was a $25,000 Short Deck Event. It drew 42 entries with a prize pool of just over $1 million. The final table ended up being a stacked affair consisting of Poker Central founder Cary Katz, Stephen Chidwick, Wai Leong Chan, John Cynn, Aaron Van Blarcum, and Xia He Jiang.
Ultimately, it was Jiang facing John Cynn for the title. In the end, Jiang walked away with the trophy and $378,000.

Sam Trickett Wins Event #2
Sam Trickett has been in a bit of a dry spell win wise. He hadn’t won a tournament in seven years before taking down the $25,000 NL Hold’em Event of this series. The event drew 58 entries with a $1.45 million top prize.
Many Congratulations to @samtrickett1

Wai Leong Chan Wins Event #3
The final table of the $25,000 Short Deck Event was a Malaysian heavy affair. Ivan Leow, Paul Phua, and Wai Leong Chan all made the final and ended up finishing in the top four. Thai Ha of Vietnam was the only player that kept Malaysia from sweeping the top three spots.

Ultimately, it was Phua versus Chan for the title with Chan walking away the victor. He won $435,000 for his first-place finish. This is the third partypoker MILLIONS title for Chan. He won two events in the Bahamas in November and also finished runner-up in the Super High Roller Bowl Bahamas. This finish will push him over $12 million in career live tournament earnings.
Mikita Badziakouski Wins $50k NL Hold’em
Mikita Badziakouski appeared to be on somewhat of a “dry spell” as he had not won an event since September. Ok, so we are being a bit sarcastic here. He has been somewhat absent from high roller results in recent months, but he turned that around in a big way on Tuesday.
Badziakouski made the final table of the $50k NL Hold’em along with Luc Greenwood, Cary Katz, Aaron Van Blarcum, Sam Greenwood, and Artur Martirosyan. Ultimately, it was Martirosyan against Badziakouski for the title. In the final hand, Martirosyan was all in with trips against a flush and gutshot draw for Badziakouski. The draw got there and Badziakouski earned his first win of 2020 along with $765,000.
Congratulations to Mikita Badziakouski of Team @partypoker who has won the $50,000 NLHE Event at the #MILLIONS Super High Roller Series Sochi for $765,000.

The Super High Roller Series Sochi rolls on with events throughout the week and concluding on Sunday, March 15. Interestingly enough, it does not appear that the coronavirus is doing anything to dissuade most players as the fields have been solid for this one. This could bode well for other live events.
With some worried that the 2020 WSOP will be canceled and other poker tournaments being delayed or canceled, a positive showing in Sochi could help convince some poker tournament organizers to move forward with plans.
