Joey Ingram Levels Collusion, Cheating and Superuser Allegations Against America’s Cardroom
In the latest “Thanks Captain Obvious” moment to occur in the poker world, popular online video blogger Joey Ingram is leveling cheating, collusion and bot allegations against America’s Cardroom and the Winning Poker Network.
Ingram released a video on Saturday where he detailed what he suspects is widespread cheating and collusion going on at most levels at ACR. He also gives a recommendation to “stay away” from cash games on the site.
Ingram Levels Serious Allegations in Video – Says Management Doesn’t Care
Ingram opened his video talking about how that this video had been a long time coming and that he was reluctant to make the video due to backlash he felt he would receive. He also claims to have contacted ACR CEO Phil Nagy with his findings and that it took Nagy six days to reply to him. This prompted Ingram to claim that Nagy “doesn’t give a f**k” about the issue.
Ingram addresses his concerns, primarily focusing on mid and high-stakes PLO play on the site. He claims that bots have always been a problem, but since he thought they were “beatable,” he didn’t consider them a big deal.
However, he then has begun noticing significant deviations in patterns of play from multiple accounts, some of which he names. Some he suspects are at least colluding if not somehow using some type of superuser program.
Ingram then goes into the issue of multi-accounting. He names three accounts specifically that he says he has spotted in high-stakes PLO games that regularly play at three tables. A third-party alerted him to the potential multi-accounting and he conducted his further investigations.
Ultimately, Ingram states that things are very off at ACR and that it seems that management and staff simply don’t care about what’s going on. He reiterates that he hates making this video because he liked the site but he felt it was necessary. Ingram also reminds viewers to stay away from ACR due to these issues.
Cheating Occurring at an Unregulated Site – Color Me Shocked!
While there’s been no bonafide proof that cheating has occurred at ACR, if this were proven true, it would not exactly prove as a shock to many in the poker community. After all, ACR is an unregulated online poker site and has been running askew of US laws since their launch.
In the past, players have made various allegations against the site but most were dismissed as ramblings from players that are upset over losing. This is one of the most serious sets of allegations against the site in a while.
Now that the video is out, one would thing that ACR or Phil Nagy himself would have responded. However, neither have yet issued a statement on the controversy.
Remember, America’s Cardroom and the Winning Poker Network are unregulated sites which do not offer protections that sites in states like New Jersey, Nevada and Delaware offer. Should the site close up tomorrow and choose not to pay, there’s nothing you can do legally. The same holds true if there is indeed a collusion or cheating racket occurring on the site.
Our personal recommendation in general is to avoid all unregulated sites as to avoid the types of problems mentioned by Ingram in the above video.
