Isaac Haxton and Keith Lehr Win Poker Masters Events
Four events of the 2018 Poker Master have concluded with two big names taking down events. PLO specialist Keith Lehr took down Event #3, $25,000 PL Omaha, overcoming a strong final table that included Brandon Adams who made his third straight final of the series. On Tuesday, Isaac Haxton made his third final table of the Poker Masters and broke through for his first win, taking down the $10,000 Short Deck Event.
Keith Lehr Wins $25,000 PLO
Heading into the Event #3 final table on Monday, all eyes were on Brandon Adams who had made his third straight final table of the series. Regardless of his finish, he was guaranteed to extend his lead in the race for the Poker Masters Purple Jacket. Joining him at the final table were Dan Shak, Isaac Haxton, and WSOP bracelet winners Ben Yu and Keith Lehr.
Adams only managed a fifth-place finish in this event, taking home $74,000 and padding his Purple Jacket points lead. He now has 510 points overall. Ultimately, it was Jonathan Depa and Keith Lehr battling heads-up for the title and the 300 points towards the Purple Jacket.
Depa led at the start of heads-up play, but Lehr quickly took the chip lead with a flush over set confrontation. That lead proved too much for Depa to overcome and he ultimately finished in second place for $222,000. Lehr added the title and $333,000 to his already impressive resume that includes a WSOP PLO bracelet.

After winning, Lehr told Poker Central, “This feels great. It was a crazy final table. I ran good in some spots, flopped a couple of sets when I was all in and I’m feeling very fortunate to win it.” With the win, Lehr moves over $3 million in career earnings.
Isaac Haxton Wins $10k Short Deck
The explosion of Short Deck Poker in high roller circuits prompted the ARIA to add an event to the Poker Masters schedule. This is the first Short Deck Poker event to be held in the United States and it proved popular with a field of 55 entries taking part in the event.
Ultimately, a murderers row of poker players made the final table of this event. Jonathan Depa just missed on his second straight final table, finishing in seventh. This final saw Dominik Nitsche start as the chip leader and he was joined by Andrew Robl, Cary Katz, Maurice Hawkins, Isaac Haxton, and Ryan Tosoc.
Nitsche was on the wrong end of a three-way all-in at the start of the final table, with Hawkins becoming the beneficiary of a well-timed triple. He rode the momentum of that triple to heads-up play against Isaac Haxton who was at his second straight final table and third overall of the Poker Masters.
Hawkins started heads-up play as chip leader but Haxton soon took the lead and ultimately the title. This victory earned Haxton his first victory of the Poker Masters as well as his first career Short Deck Poker live score. He earned $176,000 for the win.

After his win, Haxton moved up to second in the Purple Jacket standings, just 30 points behind Brandon Adams. He told Poker Central that, “It would be very satisfying to win this whole thing, I have a track record of doing pretty well, but with a lot of second through fifth-place finishes. Actually winning something is very satisfying.”
Of course, there are still three events left to play, and neither player managed to make the money in Event #5, $25,000 NL Hold’em. That event will play out on Wednesday with the final two events to play out through Saturday. The $100,000 NL Hold’em Main Event kicks off starting on Thursday with the final table commencing Saturday.
