Eibinger, Boivin, and Loeser Among Recent High Roller Winners
EPT Prague and the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic are two year-end events that draw out the pros, so it’s never a surprise when numerous big names take down events. Over at EPT Prague, Thomas Boivin and Matthias Eibinger took down the €25,000 and €50,000 High Roller Events. Over at the WPT Five Diamond, Manig Loeser took down their $25k High Roller while Sam Soverel and John Hennigan took down side events.
Thomas Boivin Takes Down EPT Prague €25k High Roller
Thomas Boivin took down the largest score of his live poker career on Thursday when he won the €25k Single-Day High Roller at EPT Prague. The event drew out 46 entries and paid a final table of six players.
When the final table was reached, a couple of big names headlined the final. Australia’s Michael Addamo and Steve O’Dwyer from the US both were looking to add to their impressive high roller resumes. However, Addamo didn’t get close, only managing a fourth place finish.
Ultimately, it was Thomas Boivin and Steve O’Dwyer battling for the title. However, Boivin had a massive chip lead that O’Dwyer was never able to overcome. Ultimately, he’d finish in second for €259,550. Boivin earned his largest career score to date with a €375,520 victory.

Matthias Eibinger Wins EPT Prague €50k Super High Roller
The EPT Prague €50k Super High Roller drew out an impressive field of 40 entrants. By the time the final table was reached, high roller superstar Matthias Eibinger had nearly half of the chips in play. He still faced a tough final table in Pavel Plesuv, Luc Greenwood, and Charlie Carrel.
However, it was Andras Nemeth of Hungary that proved the most challenging. By the time he reached heads-up play against Eibinger, he had a 2:1 chip lead and actually extended it to a 9:1 lead before Eibinger started storming back.
Ultimately, Eibinger had regained a massive chip lead and had Nemeth on the ropes. Nemeth got his chips in good with A-10 against A-9 but Eibinger spiked a nine on the river to take the hand and the title.
For the win, Eibinger earned €653,000 (US $739,552). This gives him over $4.77 million in earnings for 2018, easily his best as a pro.
That's it! One last outdraw and Matthias Eibinger is €50K Super High Roller champion, beating Andras Nemeth heads up. That's good for €653,000. Full details to come here: https://t.co/AUbrHYQXaq pic.twitter.com/3k13PZc2XY
