Colillas and Bicknell Lead 2019 Money Lists Pre-WSOP
With the 2019 World Series of Poker just around the corner, we thought we’d check in on the 2019 Money List and see which players lead before the list gets shaken up with the first 89 bracelet events of the year.
Ramon Colillas won the PokerStars Players Championship in January and is still poker’s top earner in 2019. For the women, Kristin Bicknell continues her dominance with Mario Ho a distant second.
Ramon Colillas Still Top Earner in 2019
The winner of the PokerStars Players Championship is still the top money earner of 2019 heading into May. Ramon Colillas earned $5.1 million back in January after parlaying a Platinum Pass into a career payday. Since then, he’s only earned about $23k over two events, but his January score is enough to keep him atop the 2019 Money List, at least until the 2019 World Series of Poker.
Right behind him is high roller Bryn Kenney who has $4.97 million in earnings. The bulk of his earnings came in early March when he took down the Main Event of the 2019 Triton Super High Roller Series Jeju for $3.06 million. He also won the Aussie Millions Main Event earlier in the year of $914k.
Third place is held by Jason Koon who took down two events and final tabled two other events at Jeju for a combined $4.4 million. While he hasn’t won anything else since then, that’s still a solid start to his year.
The only other people above three million in earnings so far are Timothy Adams ($3.9 million), David Peters ($3.14 million), and Julien Martini ($3 million). The top ten rounds out with Sam Greenwood ($2.97 million), Stephen Chidwick ($2.91 million), Paul Phua ($2.72 million), and Rainer Kempe ($2.45 million).
So far in 2019, there are 38 players with at least $1 million in tournament earnings with a handful in striking distance of $1 million. Of course, this list is going to change drastically in the next couple of months and we expect at least 15 to 20 more poker millionaires to be added.
Bicknell Leads Women’s Money List
Not surprisingly, the 2019 Women’s Money List looks like we’d expect it. Kristen Bicknell leads all women thus far with earnings of $962,589. She has four six-figure scores dating back to the PokerStars Players Championship in January where she finished 11th for $328,500. She followed that up later in the month with a sixth-place finish in the Aussie Millions $100k Challenge.

Her most recent six-figure score was in early March when she finished runner-up in the $25k Commerce High Roller at the LA Poker Classic. Bicknell has pushed her career earnings up to $3.27 million and has climbed to #8 on the Women’s All-Time Money List.
Maria Ho is well on her way to having a career year and has already earned $474,155 thus far in 2019. She defeated Bicknell in that aforementioned Commerce High Roller for $276,690 and then took sixth in WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown Main Event for $148,380. Ho is having her best year since 2011 when she earned a career-best $659,899 after finishing runner-up in the $5k NL Hold’em Event at the 2011 World Series of Poker.
The rest of the top five shakes out Sosia Jiang ($338,319), Lauren Roberts ($303,220) and Li Yan ($202,843). Loni Harwood is threatening to move up into the top 5 with $182,868 in earnings.
This list has a lot of potential to change dramatically over the next couple of months as women descend on Vegas and the World Series of Poker. Of course, Bicknell and Ho could also dominate and pile onto their totals to put the 2019 Women’s Money Title out of reach for other players.
