Chris Moorman Wins Triple Crown #30 – Alex Foxen Wins ACR Event
Chris Moorman is easily the most prolific online poker tournament player in the history of the game. However, when you think there’s nothing else for him to accomplish, he goes and adds something else to his resume.
On Saturday, Moorman took down his 30th career Triple Crown title. Moorman was already the all-time leader in this category, but he further extended his record and is the first player to hit 30 Triple Crowns. His next closest opponent is nine behind.
Meanwhile, we all know about Alex Foxen’s live tournament exploits over the last year. Apparently, crushing live events is not enough. On Sunday, Foxen took down a High Five Series event on America’s Cardroom for enough to almost cover his next $25k High Roller buy-in.
Moorman Wins Triple Crown #30
On Saturday, Chris Moorman took down his 30th career Triple Crown title. For those not familiar with the Triple Crown, it is a stat tracked by PocketFives and a player can win the Triple Crown by winning a poker tournament on three different websites in the span of a week.
Moorman won his 30th Triple Crown title by winning small tournaments on partypoker, PokerStars, and America’s Cardroom. While the prize money was relatively small in comparison to some online poker tournaments, every little bit helps to add to one’s bankroll.
Moorman has amassed quite the resume over the years and has earned a total of $15.91 million in online poker tournament earnings. Over the years, he has won nearly $8 million on PokerStars, $3.84 million on the now defunct Full Tilt Poker, and $834k on ACR.
Ever aware of his position in online poker, Moorman commented on Twitter after PocketFives congratulated him on winning Triple Crown #30:
Can’t have any of these youngsters catching me up! https://t.co/67FJQX0aqW

Looking at the leaderboard, Moorman doesn’t have to worry about anyone catching up to him anytime soon. The only player with a realistic chance presently is Nicolas Fierro, aka PokerKaiser. He has 21 career Triple Crowns and career online tournament earnings of $11.88 million.
If Fierro can’t do it, there’s a good chance nobody will catch Moorman, at least not for the foreseeable future. The next nearest active player is 20 behind.
Alex Foxen Wins ACR High Five Event for $19,272
Anyone following poker in the last year has heard about the exploits of Alex Foxen, and it seems that every time we turn around, he’s making another live tournament final table. What some don’t know is that he is also an accomplished online poker player.
While it would seem a bit odd to see a high rolling poker pro play in a $320 buy-in event, that’s exactly what Foxen did over the weekend, entering and taking down High Five Series Event #8 over on America’s Cardroom.
This event has a much larger field than the high rollers that Foxen has been competing in lately with 332 entrants. However, the level of competition was certainly a lot softer. Playing as OutFoxenYou, Foxen ended up taking down the event and a nice $19,272.60 prize.

Foxen is best known online under the moniker SploogeLuge or bixfox86. He has a combined $3.52 million in lifetime online poker tournament earnings. He has won $1.47 million on PokerStars and just over $1 million on partypoker.
His best career finish came in September 2017 when he won the Powerfest Championship Event for $245,770. Earlier this month, Foxen won a $200k Guaranteed event on ACR for $58k, his second largest career score.
What’s funny about this recent win for Foxen is the amount relative to recent cashes. Foxen made a pair of final tables in High Roller events at the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown, earning $725,000. His recent win wouldn’t even cover the buy-in for one of the two events.
