Andras Nemeth Leads Chase for 2020 Poker Masters Purple Jacket
Last week, we reported that Poker Masters Online kicked off with the first events of a 30-event schedule. After a week, 18 events have played to conclusion. Numerous big names in poker have taken down events, including back-to-back Super High Roller Bowl winner Timothy Adams.
The race for the Poker Masters Purple Jacket is also heading up. Andras Nemeth has managed to take the lead but Aussie superstar Michael Addamo is right behind him.
Foxen, Adams, and Koon Among Winners
The first week of Poker Masters Online saw 18 events play out. Fourteen of the events were NL Hold’em contests while the rest were PL Omaha. On Day 1, Alex Foxen managed to take down his first Poker Masters title, winning Event #3.
During the week, several other big names took down titles. Mike Watson won Event #4 while Pascal Lefrancois won Event #9. Friday was big for Aussies as Kahle Burns and Michael Addamo took down Events #10 and 11 respectively.

The weekend was huge for a couple of top pros. Timothy Adams continues his hot streak, winning Event #15 for $243,989. Jason Koon won the largest prize of the series thus far, earning $549,000 after taking down Event #16.
Over $5.3 million in prize money has been awarded to winners in the series with over $18 million paid out to players overall.
Nemeth Leads in Race for Purple Jacket
The overall points leader for Poker Masters Online will receive the Poker Masters Purple Jacket. Through 18 events, Andras Nemeth leads all players with 511 points. He has won $510,842 on the strength of four cashes. He has 511 points but is only 105 points ahead of second.
Michael Addamo is presently second after winning $444,037 over three events. He has 406 points. Pauli Ayras, Elias Talvitie, Alex Foxen, Jorryt Van Hoof, Sergi Reixach, and Alexandros Kolonias are all within 60 points or less of Addamo.

Everyone present in the top 10 has a reasonable chance at the Purple Jacket provided they can put together another win or a couple of deep runs. There are 12 events left on the schedule, so there is plenty of time to make up ground. Of course, if Nemeth or Addamo can put together a couple of nice runs, they could put the Purple Jacket out of reach for the other players.
Players are not only chasing the Purple Jacket but also a $50,000 prize for the winner. Granted, the $50k prize is somewhat paltry considering the buy-ins of this event. It would effectively cover the Main Event buy-in.
