Cimbolas and Schindler Win Big at ARIA High Rollers

The latest group of ARIA High Rollers was played this past weekend. Jake Schindler and Matas Cimbolas were the top performers of the weekend. Schindler cashed in three events, taking down one. Cimbolas finished first and second respectively in the opening events.

Matas Cimbolas Wins Opening $10k Event

The first of four ARIA High Roller events kicked off on Wednesday with a $10k NL Hold’em tournament. The event drew 51 entries, creating a prize pool of $510,000. Several big names made the final table, including Jake Schindler, Sam Soverel, and Ali Imsirovic. Schindler managed a min-cash, just doubling his buy-in.

Imsirovic finished in third place, earning $71,400. This allowed Johan Guilbert of France and Matas Cimobolas of Lithuania to battle for the title. In the end, Guilbert fell just short, earning $107,100 for second place. Matas Cimbolas earned his first career ARIA High Roller title, which happened to be his first-ever cash in these events.

Sergio Aido Wins $10k – Cimbolas Second

On Thursday, the second $10k High Roller kicked off. This time around, 47 entries were collected for a prize pool of $470,000. Only seven players were paid this time around. Manig Loeser finished fifth, followed by Dylan Linde in fourth and Sean Winter in third.

Matas Cimbolas made his second straight heads-up battle in two days. This time he faced Sergio Aido. Cimbolas fell just short of back-to-back titles, earning $103,400 for second place. Aido won $159,800 and his first career ARIA High Roller title.

Bill Klein Outlasts Staked $25k Final Table

The first of two $25k events kicked off on Friday. There were 36 entries, with a prize pool of $900,000. Only the final six were paid, but what a final six it was. Jake Schindler made his second min-cash of the series, earning $54,000. Alex Foxen finished 5th, good for $72,000.

Sean Winter cashed for the second time this series, earning $90,000 for fourth. Ali Imsirovic also cashed for the second time in this series, earning $144,000 for third.

This left Seth Davies Battling 2015 Big One for One Drop runner-up Bill Klein for the title. Klein showed he is no slouch in high-stakes tournaments, defeating Davies for the $324,000 top prize. Amazingly, this is Klein’s first-ever live tournament victory. He now has $4.89 million in career live poker tournament earnings.

Jake Schindler Wins Closing $25k Event

The final tournament of this short series was a $25k High Roller played on Saturday. Only 27 entries were collected for a prize pool of $675,000. This left only the final four players getting a payday.

Johan Guilbert got his second cash of the series, earning a $67,500 min-cash. Daniel Negreanu finally broke through for his first High Roller cash of 2021, earning $108,000 for third place. Eric Worre and Jake Schindler battled heads-up for the title.

Schindler defeated Worre for the title and the $310,500 top prize. Amazingly, this is the 13th victory by Schindler in Aria High Rollers dating back to 2016. He now has $25,908,390. He ranks #1 in total money won at the Aria with $13.69 million and second all-time in cashes with 66. He’s just 1 cash behind Cary Katz for most cashes.

This will be the last Aria High Roller Series until September. That’s because there are several PokerGO Tour stops to be played over the summer. It all starts with the US Poker Open from June 3rd through 14th. Then the PokerGO Cup will run from July 1st through 10th.

The PokerGO Heads-Up Championship will run on July 12th. Finally, the Poker Masters will run from September 13th through 24th.

The next Aria High Roller Series will run September 25th through 29th, concurrent with the 2021 Super High Roller Bowl that will run from September 26th through 28th.
